Royal Wood @ Niagara Wine Festival

Before leaving for Newfoundland, I was super excited because I got to squeeze in one more Royal Wood concert at the Niagara Wine Festival in St. Catherine's, Ontario.  The forecast that day initially called for rain, but it turned into a lovely afternoon of sunshine and music.  Royal played two 45 minute sets with his 4 piece band, consisting of Dean Drouillard, Steve Zsirai and Mark Mariash.  I'd say most of the songs were from The Burning Bright (and the I Wish You Well EP), with a few older songs thrown in for good measure.  Here's some of my favourite shots:

Deer in Niagara

I was recently on a drive through the Niagara region of Ontario.  While driving along, towards the Falls, I noticed these beautiful deer just walking along a side street.  We pulled the car over and stopped so that I could shoot them. With my camera, of course!

Amy's Cottage (better late than never!)

Amy invited us (Errol and I) up to her cottage one weekend in August when he was back in town. Although it was a bit chilly (unseasonably... kind of like our entire summer here in Toronto), we still made the most of it and had a great time. There was lots of nature involved. The Muskoka area of Ontario is truly beautiful though, and even an indoors type of person like me enjoyed it (though they couldn't convince me to get in that canoe!!) Here's a few pics.

Peterborough.

So, on Sunday, I had a lovely day with my friend Pete.

We started out having brunch at Saving Grace... I had the most delicious waffles with fresh peaches & blueberry butter. I think I need to learn how to make blueberry butter, because it was incredible.



Then we ended up travelling about 2.5 hours north-east of Toronto, to Pete's cottage in Peterborough. Between the two of us, we had 6 cameras and 3 tripods. Pete is one of the best photographers I know. I can't wait to see his shots... In the meantime, here's mine!
