The Beauties @ Junction Music Festival

Last weekend, I had the chance to see local Toronto band, The Beauties at The Junction Music Festival. It was my first time attending the festival, and it was really cool. They only closed a small portion of the street, where the main stage was located, but there was stuff happening in all the shops, restaurants and alcoves along Dundas St. West.  It looked like it was going to be a rainy night and I almost considered skipping the show, but thankfully the rain let up just as I was arriving to the stage area.  This band is super awesome, and I highly recommend checking them out!

Mudmen at Taste of the Kingsway

A few weeks ago, I had the chance to see one of my favourite bands from my university days, The Mudmen, at the Taste of the Kingsway street festival in Toronto.  The festival shuts down part of Bloor Street for a full weekend and features great food and music.  It was an awesome day to spend some time taking in live tunes.

High Park Cherry Blossoms

One of my favourite times to be in the west end of Toronto is late spring.  That's because every year in May, the High Park cherry blossom trees spring to life.  The Sakura trees were given to Toronto on behalf of the Japanese, for Toronto's support during World War Two.  The short-lived flowering season brings many people to the park, myself included!  I was able to visit twice this year, when the buds were just popping up, and then later when the trees were in full bloom.  Here are some of my favourite shots:

Don Valley Brickworks

Tout Est Possible
Print Available at ImageKind
My friend Katy and I have been going on a few photowalks a month since April... I end up being super inspired and taking hundreds of photos, and then the thought of processing them all for publishing ends up slowing me down.  Last week, I managed to edit a few of the photos from our trip to the Evergreen Don Valley Brickworks - though I have at least one more set to share!

For those who have never been, the Brickworks features an extensive outdoor section with areas that are great for nature photos, and then the old factory which features amazing graffiti and super cool steampunk-esque elements.

Here's some shots from the outdoor section!

Herman's Hermits at the CNE

On August 30th, 2012, I went down to the CNE for the sole purpose of watching one of my favourite musicians perform.  I had previously seen Herman's Hermits back in April of 2009, in Clearwater Florida, and yet again, they did not disappoint!  Here are some of my favourite shots:
